Lap Band Procedures

Lap Band patients are advised that when you are making appointments, you must check that your referral is up to date and still valid; otherwise you can not claim a rebate back through Medicare.

As a lap band patient need to be aware that you must see a dietician on a regular basis for the procedure to have the maximum benefit. Dr Copp will not add or remove any fluid from your band if you have not seen the dietician in the last 3 months before your appointment.

Dr Copp will only add up to 1ml (Vanguard patients 3ml maximum may be added) of fluid adjustments at a time and then you can return to see us if you feel you need more fluid in your band. This is done so that you can adjust your food intake appropriately following the fill.

Patients should be reminded that they need to see Dr Copp on a regular basis and the standard appointments should be at:

1 Month
2 Months
3 Months
6 Months
9 Months
12 Months

And then every 3 months or when you feel that you need to be seen, these are only general appointments and if you feel that you need to be seen earlier then please make an appointment.

If you have a problem with your band please call Benita on her mobile 0414939681 and she will try to sort out that problem with you. If you have an office matter please call our rooms and we will be able to help you with that matter.
